Nasscom, in collaboration with Zinnov, is excited to release the latest edition of their GCC landscape report titled “India GCC Landscape Report – The 5 Year Journey”. The report features a detailed deep dive on the GCC sector in India across key growth levers such as service delivery maturity, talent transformation, ecosystem partnerships and digital capabilities including AI. The report provides landscape numbers regarding GCCs- revenues, employee headcount, skills, locations, number of GCCs and GCC centers among others. 

The last 5 years has seen rapid expansion in the GCC ecosystem and India remains well-positioned for future growth through prioritization on skills development, cybersecurity, and progressive policy frameworks. The country's emphasis on high-end engineering roles and strategic partnerships also enables it to meet the evolving needs of global companies, fostering sustainable practices and driving innovation.

Key Findings

India GCC landscape growing progressively since the past 5 years

  • Total number of GCCs have risen to over 1,700 in FY2024, with over 2975 centres. 

  • As of FY2024, Indian GCCs estimated to $64.6 billion in revenue and employ over 1.9 million people.
Increasing GCC Maturity over the last 5 years

  • More than 50% of GCCs have moved up to portfolio and transformation hubs, with 40% CAGR increase in global roles and women leadership roles in the last 5 years.
     
  • Almost 90% of the GCCs operate as multi-functional centers, supporting technology, operations and product engineering.
     
  • ER&D GCCs have grown 1.3 times faster than the overall GCC growth rate, indicating a shift towards higher-value and more complex work to India.
GCCs leading the AI transformation

  • GCCs in India are increasingly focused on building AI capabilities and driving the AI transformation for their internal enterprise

  • A talent pool of over 120,000 AI / ML professionals and over 185 dedicated AI/ML COEs is helping build specific use cases and the more mature GCCs are further developing expertise in full-stack development
Future outlook

  • GCC market size is expected to reach around $100 bn by 2030, and the headcount expected to cross 2.5 mn.
