More than ever before, there is a significant need for managers and HR professionals to have knowledge of laws impacting their work environment. With changing mechanisms of workforce engagement, development of global and modern workplaces, especially in the IT-BPM sector, an understanding of Indian employment laws is critical so as to manage the workforce within the legal framework. The Indian government is also taking a focussed approach on amending employment laws so as to be in tune with business requirements and emerging technology.
We bring to you a Roundtable discussion on “Labour Laws & Impact on Indian IT-ITES Organizations”. As the title suggests, the session is intended to have a specific focus on IT and ITES industries applicability, implications and limitations of employment laws on the industry.
With a thorough insight of theoretical and practical experience, our speaker Mr. Michael Dias, Managing Partner, Michael Dias and Associates will provide you an insight into key aspects of Indian employment laws that would help member companies in structuring workforce and managing employee relations better.
Mr Dias is a renowned expert and has a comprehensive knowledge of various Corporate Laws while specializing them in employment and arbitration matters. He has also been an Employer Representative on various statutory bodies constituted by the Government of India including Employees’ State Insurance Corporation, Apprenticeship Advisory Committee, Central Advisory Committee on Workmen’s Compensation and the like. He is an active Member of LAWASIA and International Labour Organization (ILO)
Objective: The Roundtable has been structured to be an interactive session where an expert employment lawyer will provide an overview of the laws impacting a workplace.
During the session, the speaker will touch upon Indian employment laws, including Shops and Establishments Act, Industrial Disputes Act, Industrial Employment (Standing Orders) Act, employment documentation, including employment contracts, etc.
The session is intended to be interactive and will be followed by a Q&A session.
