An Interactive Workshop on - The Code on Wages 2019

India's new codified labour law - The Code on Wages, 2019 ("Code on Wages") has been approved by both the Houses of the Parliament and received Presidential assent on August 8, 2019. The Code on Wages now merely awaits its effective date, which will be notified by the Government separately.

Once the effective date of the Code on Wages is notified, it shall subsume and repeal four important labour laws in India: (1) The Payment of Wages Act, 1936; (2) The Minimum Wages Act, 1948; (3) The Payment of Bonus Act, 1965 and (4) The Equal Remuneration Act, 1976. Given that the effective date of the Code on Wages can be expected anytime from now, it is critical for employers to understand the new law and the compliances there under in order to be able to undergo a smooth transition.

In this backdrop, NASSCOM in association with law firm Nishith Desai Associates, is organizing an interactive workshop on 25th February 2020 from 2:30 pm onwards, to discuss (a) the potential impact of the Code on Wages upon employers; (b) the key features of the Code on Wages and (c) the important employer compliances there under.

It is our pleasure to invite you to this important workshop. The agenda and the registration link are appended below for your kind reference.
