One billion people, or 15% of the world’s population, experience some form of disability, and disability prevalence is higher in developing countries. One-fifth of the estimated global total, or between 110 million and 190 million people, experience significant disabilities.
With the world becoming more diverse, it is necessary to take meaningful and progressive steps for persons with disabilities benefiting from the innovations in assistive technologies.
During this month of ‘International day of persons with disabilities’ at NASSCOM D&I, we would like to bring awareness of disability-inclusive development and the importance of international development in addressing the rights of persons with disabilities. This session will provide participants with the understanding of reasonable disability accommodations in organizations, how and where to start accessibility inclusion at the workplace, latest assistive technology for PWD’s and becoming socially responsible inclusion champions.
