The concept of Cloud has been around for two decades, but the effort to maintain business operation during COVID-19 Pandemic has put Cloud Computing at the centre stage for many organization. It will become mainstream with the growing presence of "hyper scale" Cloud providers in big data, analytics, artificial intelligence and IoT. Cloud computing is no longer about servers & storage, it's a model for enabling ubiquitous, convenient, on-demand network access to a shared pool of configurable computing resources. Emerging trends are transforming it as a business technology must have.
Global Cloud spending estimated at USD 187 Bn. in 2018 and is projected to grow at 16.5% p.a. to reach USD 345 Bn. in 2022 whereas Cloud spending in India is estimated at USD 2.5 Bn. in 2018 (Only 6% share of relevant IT spending compared to a global average of 7.9% and average of leading countries of 11.4%). Though Cloud spending in India is estimated to grow at 30% p.a. to reach USD 7.1 – 7.2 Bn. in 2022. Lower cost of workforce, abundant talent availability, mature inside sales ecosystem, adoption of futuristic technologies like AI, ML to build world-class products, increased investments in SaaS start-ups is enabling India to become a global supplier for SaaS. Wherein Tier II and rural markets in India remain untapped due to lack of access to quality broadband, reliable power supply, etc. gives access potential untapped market to large global IaaS players.
Through NASSCOM Tech Series would like to asses India's cloud ecosystem and related emerging trends. Would also delve into analysing demand and adoption levels across industries.
Following is the agenda for the session
