Business Delegation to Japan

Dear Members,
NASSCOM’s GTD function has been working hard since last couple of years to forge partnership with Japan – the second largest economy by IT spending. In last few months we have seen flurry of activities targeted at creating alliances with Japanese ecosystem on the Digital front especially leveraging IoT revolution given our respective strengths in the space. Japan has been traditionally a difficult market for Indian industry but the revolution in Digital era has opened up lot of opportunities for co-creation & development for companies from India and Japan. And we are pleased to share with you all the recent developments and upcoming opportunities where our members can join us.

Highlights

• Last year with assistance from METI NASSCOM organized for 10 Indian startup companies from the IoT / Analytics space to participate in CEATEC 2016 with a fully paid trip inclusive of exhibitor’s space, networking sessions, etc. The response and feedback received from these startup companies was phenomenal. This year also we will select 10 Indian Startup companies for a fully paid trip to participate in CEATEC.
• Earlier this year we also did a very enriching survey of more than 100+ Japanese manufacturing companies with Nomura Research Institute (NRI) to know about their plans and perception about Indian IT.
• Additionally, with our efforts we have been able to forge an MOU with IOT Acceleration Consortium (ITAC) of Japan being – a METI initiative to foster close collaboration of India and Japanese companies on the Digital revolution.

Drawing confidence from the response received thus far from both Indian and Japanese companies we are planning a big India show at CEATEC 2017 to showcase true capabilities of the Indian IT industry in Japan.

One of the world’s biggest IOT event - one-stop venue that brings CPS /IoT world together, under one roof, everything from electronic components to finished products, involving not only IT & electronics but other industries including automotive, and user companies. 2016 edition saw Japanese Prime Minister speak at the event with more than 140,000 visitors attending the show.
