Deputy Director/ Director – New Initiatives

We are seeking an experienced Deputy Director – New Initiatives with 15+ years of experience in driving strategic programs and collaborations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with Central & State Governments, Academia, Industry, and the Skilling Ecosystem in India. This role requires expertise in partnership development, and execution of large-scale skilling initiatives.

Basic Functions/ Job Responsibility

 

  • Strategic Initiatives & Program Development:
    • Identify, conceptualize, and implement new initiatives aligned with organizational goals.
    • Develop strategies to strengthen engagement with Government agencies, academia, and industry stakeholders.
    • Ensure alignment of initiatives with national skill development policies and industry needs.
  • Government & Academia Collaboration:
    • Liaise with ministries, state skill development missions, regulatory bodies (NSDC, NCVET, SSCs, MORD, MeitY, etc.) to drive skilling initiatives.
    • Collaborate with universities, research institutions, and industry bodies to design and implement skill development programs.
  • Industry & Skilling Ecosystem Engagement:
    • Foster partnerships with corporate organizations and industry associations to facilitate workforce upskilling and reskilling.
    • Work closely with training providers, assessment bodies, and certification agencies to ensure high-quality skill development programs.
  • Program Execution & Monitoring:
    • Oversee end-to-end implementation of initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and impact assessment.
    • Establish performance metrics and reporting mechanisms for continuous improvement.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, Experience

  • 15+ years of experience in strategic planning, government engagement, and skilling ecosystem management.
  • Proven track record of working with Central & State Governments, Industry, and Academia on large-scale skilling initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of the Skill Development Ecosystem in India
  • Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and leadership abilities.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in managing large-scale digital learning platforms, assessments, and certifications.
  • Prior experience in proposal writing, government RFPs, and fund mobilization for skill development projects.
