With substantial expectations riding on the second full Union Budget to be introduced by the NDA Government, we invite you to an interactive session with our knowledge partner BMR & Associates LLP, on the Union Budget 2016-17 and its implications on the IT/ ITeS sector in India.
The IT/ ITeS sector has been facing multiple challenges for the years, some of which, continue to be unresolved. These challenges range are being faced on various levels; eg:
MAT on SEZ units
- Clarity on the APA rollback provisions and safe harbour rules,
- Thresholds for taxing indirect transfers
- Continued lock in for service tax refunds
- Input credit restrictions and continued disputes
- Incentives under the Foreign Trade Policy & exiting STP unit status
- A quantum shift in the tax model & compliance obligations under GST
The sector is currently grappling with the right outlook to deal with such direct and indirect tax related matters which need a deeper level of support. Given this, the industry as a whole has built up expectations from this Government to provide relief with the overall objective of improving the ease of doing business and bring a higher degree of certainty to tax matters.
