Job Details/ Criteria

Basic Functions/ Job Responsibility:

                                    Role – Government Relations & Policy advocacy

 

  • Government Relations:  Lead Government Relations for Global Trade Development(GTD) with key ministries like MeitY, Dept of Commerce, Ministry of External Affairs and other state and central government teams as required. Key areas of engagement will include partnering with government on key initiatives, navigating nasscom grants through ministries & departments, hosting  inward delegation requested by GOI/ Indian Missions overseas, represent nasscom in Government meetings and be the primary point of contact for Global Trade Development. 
  • Content creation and Management: India is negotiating FTAs with a number of countries. Technology will play a considerable role in promoting the bilateral trade. Nasscom is making/will make a number of submissions to the Governments, chambers and creating position papers and building industry narrative with like-minded bodies. The incumbent will be responsible for creating appropriate content , submissions, white papers, presentation in areas like trade in services, FTA, digital trade, talent mobility, data transfers in cross border & other relevant issues in global context. 
  • Stakeholder coordination and management:  Coordination with key stakeholders like external agencies especially focused on US agency and member companies working on engagement with US Administration and Congress on areas that matter to us – visas/Social security agreement, Artificial Intelligence, Data privacy regime. Includes working with think tanks, third party consulting outfits to ensure targets are met on federal govt engagements in helping change the narrative of the industry, highlight issues and challenges, provide responses to GOI, create reports, interface with member companies and various Govt of India department as required.

 

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, Experience:
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Able to communicate with others
  • Ability to understand varied problems and collate it in a coherent, logical manner, good speaking skills to be able to lead discussions with Government and Members.
  • Should have conflict management abilities 
  • Ethical mindset with a zeal to keep an eye on the larger cause.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Post Graduate in any discipline
  • 15+ years of experience
