Job Description:

The Deputy Director- ER&D Industry Initiatives will play a crucial role in identifying and addressing the strategic needs of the ER&D sector, fostering collaboration across the ER&D ecosystem, and ensuring the industry's continued growth and innovation. This position requires a deep understanding of the ER&D landscape, excellent strategic and analytical skills, and the ability to engage and influence diverse stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Engagement and Relationship Building:
  • Collaborate with ER&D C-suite executives and stakeholders to identify sector-specific challenges, opportunities, and priorities.
  • Build and maintain impactful relationships with industry leaders, policymakers, and other key stakeholders to advocate and influence positive industry outcomes.
  • Engage with the ER&D community to extract insights, disseminate best practices, and cultivate a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Act as a key industry representative at events, conferences, and forums, championing the interests and perspectives of the ER&D sector.
  1. Strategic Initiatives and Program Leadership:
  • Spearhead the development and implementation of strategic initiatives and programs that bolster the ER&D industry's growth and development.
  • Collaborate with diverse Industry members and nasscom teams to execute transformative strategies and growth initiatives.
  • Forge and sustain partnerships with research/academic entities, governmental agencies, and other pertinent organizations to bolster ER&D initiatives.
  • Initiate and coordinate knowledge exchange and networking opportunities through various platforms and events, fostering industry collaboration.
  1. Research and Analysis:
  • Keep abreast of emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities within the ER&D sector, integrating these insights into strategic planning and advocacy.
  • Monitor key industry developments, regulatory shifts, technological progressions, and policy updates to guide informed decision-making and advocacy.
  • Oversee the production of insightful research papers, whitepapers, and case studies that underscore the ER&D industry's trends, challenges, and prospects.
  1. Strategic Communications and Thought Leadership:
  • Formulate and convey strategic advice to ER&D sector leadership, addressing critical business concerns and goals.
  • Cultivate trusted advisor status, establishing strong connections within the ER&D industry.
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry advancements and innovations to augment expertise and delivered value.
  • Lead workshops and deliver presentations to a variety of stakeholders, disseminating valuable insights and fostering dialogue.
  • Contribute to the creation of thought leadership materials and marketing content, showcasing the ER&D sector's acumen and innovations.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, Experience:

Qualifications:

  • Degree or masters in engineering or related field.
  • 15+ years of industry research or consulting experience and 10 years of extensive experience within the ER&D sector, demonstrating profound understanding of its dynamics, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Proven track record of leading strategic initiatives and fostering industry growth.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and communication skills. Leadership and project management expertise.
  •  Strong network within the ER&D industry and the ability to engage with high-level stakeholders.
