Considering the high complexity of M&A processes, integrating both quantitative and qualitative research can prove to be highly beneficial in better examining and predicting M&A scenarios.
You will build an AI-ML algorithm with the capability to predict potential M&A action of corporations in North America region
You are expected to start with the listed companies in major stock exchanges of the USA, namely NYSE, NASDAQ, S&P 500, DJIA, as the base set of companies
There will be two levels of validation to qualify the outcomes
Testing data to be used for validating the model’s performance ability. For example, “How many of the predicted M&A eventually materialled on predicted lines?”
Fidelity validation will be based on the F1-score of the model and the final presentation to the jury
Potential co-productization of the solution
Recognition at an exclusive Fidnovate event
Cash prize for the winners
Winner – INR 10 Lakhs
Runner-up – INR 5 Lakhs
Build a predictive model that states the potential for M&A action by any company in the base set, based on the historical M&A data.
Build a predictive model that identifies the nature of companies likely to be a target for an M&A event, by leveraging the outcomes of Phase 1.
When the company’s intent and the target have been predicted, the expected timeline for the deal to be completed (or announced or signed) will attract brownie points.
Here are the steps you need to follow to participate:
From the date of launch, you will have four weeks to submit your approach note. The teams qualifying for the next round will have ten weeks to build the AI model solution to the problem statement. There will be a midpoint check-in by the Core Team to get a sense of the progress made.
Participants can use any platform to build their model. Local desktops/laptops, company HVD/VPN/Virtual Desktop, Cloud Platforms. But to qualify for final evaluation, you must be able to upload the codes on the platform created by the organizing team. So, plan accordingly based on your company’s protocols and firewall permissions.
You can use any programming language and recognized software that you are comfortable with. Please mention in the approach note about the programming language and software you intend to use.
Yes, your approach note can include any number of options, but there can be only one file uploaded.
There will be a panel of judges for evaluating the approach note the finale submission. While the information pointers outlined in the approach note template will form the basis, the evaluation criteria will be shared separately at the time of Reverse Pitch event.
All shortlisted teams will then be contacted by the organisers and further details on the main event will be shared. The final solution will have both quantitative and qualitative metrics as a part of the selection criteria. Evaluation criteria will be shared
We will share a template with the selected participants. The participants will be required to use the template shared to capture information points to outline their approach.
To participate, you should be an employee of a company and you must use your organization’s business email in order to register. Individual participants are not allowed. You must register as a team along with your fellow team members.
