Dear Member,
Welcome to the November edition of the NASSCOM research newsletter. Today the USD 118 billion Indian IT-BPM industry is at a crossroad. The past has been considerably predictable in terms of customer demand, services offered and operating models in place, and as a result growth has been largely homogeneous. Current times though are a lot more volatile and competitive, as a result organizational performances are now a lot more heterogeneous. The explosive startup landscape in India has further fueled innovation in futuristic technologies. Today there are more than 3100 startups in India spread across diverse areas, with products that not only enhance existing SI solutions, but also help drive new product creation and service offerings.

As a result, the past couple of years has seen increasing instances of collaborative partnerships between large enterprises, and smaller players. The variety and scale on offer in India again allows for multiple collaborative models to exist. The impact has been immediate and tangible. In the past one year
· Over 50 collaborative partnerships have been established at different levels.
· Collaborative partnerships have yielded a revenue impact in excess of USD 1 billion in FY14.
· Almost 10% of incremental industry growth has been driven through collaborative partnerships.
This is though, just the tip of the iceberg. As the world goes digital, new product categories get created, the Indian startup landscape expands fourfold and time-to-market for solutions becomes increasingly important, we predict an exponential rise in the number of collaborative partnerships, and an overall impact of USD 10 billion by 2020.
