NASSCOM has been investing in creating bridges with the ecosystem in China to strengthen IT Cooperation between two large neighbours. In this connection NASSCOM signed MOU to cooperate with Guizhou province on its Big Data initiative earlier this year in February 2017. In the last six months there have been two delegations from NASSCOM to Guiyang the capital city of Guizhou. The last one being in last week of May 2017 where Indian contingent participated in the Big Data expo of China in Guiyang where a sub-forum levels talks took place. It was during this visit that NASSCOM invited Governor Sun to visit India with his officials to share the opportunities that exists for the Indian companies as they develop Guizhou as Big Data hub of China. We are given to understand that Beijing has committed large investments to promote Guizhou as the centrepiece of Big Data initiative in China.

Post signing of the MOU in February Guizhou Provincial Government had shared some list of projects where NASSCOM members were invited to participate. Showing interest to promote this cooperation some of the NASSCOM member companies visited Guizhou to participate in this initiative and indicated their interest to invest in the region to pursue some of these opportunities. We hope that formal intent to cooperate will be signed by some of these companies with the State-owned companies of Guizhou during Governor’s visit. Which will be big step forward to promote cooperation of China and India companies to collaborate on the Big data initiatives.

There are some more projects where we are currently looking to map NASSCOM member companies with their Chinese counterparts. We will share the list of projects where we are looking for probable partners from Indian side with the participants who confirm their representation at this session.
